IED's School of Industrial Design: a new view of contemporary design
IED, the European Institute of Design, is an international school that offers a varied range of courses in the areas of Design, of Fashion, of the Visual Arts and of Communications. Two different curricula are available at the School of Design: industrial design and interior design. The array of courses of industrial design offered by the European Institute of Design has been developed according to the diversified requirements of the industrial contemporary market and with a special attention to all the possible areas where industrial design is involved, from street furnishing to automobiles and IT hardware.
The principal aim of the industrial design courses at IED is to educate high-profile designers and to improve both their theoretical and practical skills, with a particular stress on the combination of technical innovation, aesthetics and efficiency that characterises modern industrial design. Following the market requirements, courses of Industrial Design for Sports and Model Construction for Industrial Design have been established for people who would like to specialize in these specific areas of industrial design.
The IED's industrial design college offers courses at various levels, from the post-secondary to Master and advanced industrial design courses. The IED's industrial design school has various branches in Italy, Spain and Brazil; the course are taught through either English or the local language of the host school. Evening courses are also available in some of the branches of the industrial design school.
