Undergraduate Studies in Spain
Study Fashion, Design, Visual Communication and Management at the IED
Why attend IED Undergraduate Degree Course?
The IED was founded in Milan in 1966 as a private institution focusing on all the disciplines of design, visual communication and fashion. At present it is a Private Centre for Higher Education in Design, and boasts nine schools in Italy, Spain and Brazil.
In Spain, with schools in Madrid and Barcelona, the IED has implemented a joint didactic project that strives for excellence and is committed to a new kind of design, where human beings define and are the ultimate purpose of the creative process.
Design is conceived of as a form of approximation, relationship with and transformation of the reality around us, driven by values such as innovation, sustainability and co-design.
Official Undergraduate Degrees in Design, official studies of 4 years (240 ECTS) and IED Diplomas (3 years, 180 IED credits) are designed for students who want to transform their talent and creativity into a profession, as well acquiring the required knowledge to build the personal, professional and social project for their own lives.
Bachelor of Arts with Honours: Three-year courses (360 Westminster Credits). These are courses in English language validated by the prestigious University of Westminster. Double certification recognizes once again our formative quality and consolidates the international prestige of these courses.
Become a Fashion, Product, Interior or Graphic Designer. Our programs want to achieve three basic objectives: knowledge of technologies, materials and design culture.

The European Commission has awarded the IED Madrid and the IED Barcelona the Extended Erasmus Charter (EUCX), which enables students, faculty and staff to transfer to a range of Higher Education Centers, as long as they are in possession of this charter and belong to the European Space for Higher Education in the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic years.
The well-established relationship between IED and the working world enables our students to develop projects in collaboration with real enterprises and take part in events and seminars, as well as competitions: This stimulates the responsibility to take decisions and the ability to relate to the client, just as they would in their real professional careers.
The methodology of the IED contemplates teaching small groups in order to establish a strong connection with the teachers, all of whom are active professionals, and to ensure that students are monitored from the start, both during attendance-based lessons and in their laboratory activities and projects.
Our aim is to transform passion, talent and creativity into knowledge and abilities that will lend future design professionals the best training to succeed in an increasingly demanding market.
