For almost fifty years, IED has been operating in the fields of education and research in the disciplines of design, fashion, visual communication and management. Today, IED is a constantly expanding international network that issues first-level academic diplomas and organises three-year courses, Masters courses, continuous professional development and advanced training courses.
IED is, moreover, part of different associations:
CUMULUS (International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media), ELIA (The European League of the Institute of Arts) as well as a member of ERASMUS+ (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014-2020 award and Erasmus Policy Statement). It also maintains links with various international Universities and Academic Associations, including: ADI (Association for Industrial Design), NAFSA (Association of International Educators), and EAIE (European Association for International Education): a large group of institutions based in different parts of the world that completes and expands upon the possibility of academic exchange open to IED students.
This wide-ranging group of international organisations grants IED students even more extensive possibilities for academic exchange. Numerous bilateral agreements with prestigious international universities provide the chance for our students to take part in the Exchange Study Program and in the Erasmus + Program and spend a semester abroad at one of our partner universities or another IED location.
