The Master of Product Design Labs teaches students to form ideas and define product development projects down to the last detail, considering both the possibilities and limitations of the industrial manufacturing processes.

It brings the students to the point between production conceptualization and commercialization strategy: through the materialization of ideas using industry tools; the innovation of materials and manufacturing processes, all in a creative way that anticipates the market’s demands.

Designed for: professionals related to the field of design, with previous studies or professional experience in the area. It is also aimed at those who have demonstrable experience in areas linked to product design.

Description

It trains designers with entrepreneurial initiative, capable of maneuvering themselves in the real world. Starting with either their own project or given an external project, they manage the product industrialization process in its totality, succeeding in each project phase and collaborating with specialized professionals in a way that strengthens their research, conceptualization and communication skills. The Master’s asks students to think of a scenario or project they would like to explore more in-depth.
Throughout the course of the program, they will be guided in the development, production and execution of their project, all the way to the final product. The program is structured in three phases: Strategy and Design, Production and Execution and Feasibility.
Trips: The MA includes some trips and excursions to national and international destinations depending on the contents and the needs of the programme (the transfers and accommodation are included in the price of the MA).

Professional Opportunities: Upon completing the Master’s program, students are qualified to work as Senior Designer at a design studio or company; Senior Designer at any company or professional studio interested in project development, processes, services, strategies, or lines of communication; Design Manager; Project Manager; Product Manager; Design Consultant; or Freelance Designer.
