IED for CONVIVIO
On Friday Milan will be hosting the eleventh edition of Convivio, the most important charity exhibition and mart organised in Italy to raise money for ANLAIDS Lombardia, the Lombardy branch of the association that fights against AIDS, which is due to take place at Fieramilanocity from 8 to 12 June 2012.
This year, the IED will be the first educational establishment ever to have been involved as a supporter at Convivio, with a special focus on our students, who will be giving their own particular interpretation to playing a leading role in this important event, making a personal contribution of creativity and talent. Starting this morning.
Become a socially committed woman: a team of students at the IED School of Fashion in Milan was given the slogan for the 2012 Convivio and asked to make their own original and personal interpretation. The aim was to succeed in translating it into graphic and visual ideas for customising the shoppers to be used during the press conference presenting the event, which was held this morning, on 22 May. The ideas they came up with included the lettering collage of fonts created by a student in Fashion Design, Nicoletta Pezzoli, which was chosen by the Convivio organisation.
In addition, for the gala dinner organised by Convivio on 7 June, the students reading Graphic Design, Art Direction, Illustration and Fashion Design will be taking care of the room’s graphic set-up: a touch of creativity, colour and animation for a special evening, this time bearing the mark of these young designers, too.
From 8 to 12 June, 1,000 canvas bags made and customised by the students in the School of Fashion will be on show and on sale on the IED stand in the exhibition and mart. They are the work of seventeen students of Fashion Design, co-ordinated by Francesca Tottoli, from the IED Milan School of Fashion Special Projects Area. Inside this space, there will also be an open lab, where these young designers will be creating one-off pieces live, showing the process, the techniques and the methods they use to make them and describing the creative experience to the audience: telling how an idea leads to a fashion product.
During the five days that the event remains open to the public, numerous students from the IED Schools in Milan will be helping out at Fieramilanocity as volunteers, brought together by their aim to provide tangible support to the worthy cause of Convivio.
