Jewelry Lab

It is the place where students finalize their projects working on prototypes and models previously conceived. It is equipped with portable power tools and stationary machines such as presses, drills, cutters, etc..

Textile Lab

It is the place of training and consultation, provision of the student to complete and refine their study subjects through the processing of both traditional and innovative materials. Here, students can refer to different stores, textiles, color and magazines, as well as print technical patterns on fabrics.

Knitwear Lab

It’s a space dedicated to the creation and testing of manual and automated knitting processes. It has a wide selection of machines and accessories to develop the technical expertise required for the construction of knitwear prototypes.

Fashion Accessories Lab

It’s a space dedicated to the creation of fashion accessories and leather apparel details which has 6 sewing machines, a “column” machine, a fleshing machine and a manual cutter.

Tailoring Labs

Sono spazi forniti di macchinari atti alla realizzazione tecnica di cartamodelli e capi d’abbigliamento, fondamentali per dare forma alle idee. Essi dispongono di macchine da cucire lineari, macchina per cucire zig zag (asole, ricami), taglia cuci, postazione stiro (ferro da stiro, asse e braccio mobile aspirante), tavoli da lavoro e manichini.

Photo Studio – Fashion

Those spaces are equipped with machinery capable of the technical implementation of patterns and clothing, essential for giving shape to ideas. They have linear sewing machines , zig zag sewing machines (for buttonholes and embroidery), overlocks, ironing station board (iron, ironing board and vacuum arm swing), work tables and dummies.

Computer Labs – Fashion

Activities in the Computer Labs allow the students to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for the completion of each course. The Computer are equipped with OSX and Windows operating system, projector, printer, scanner and graphic pens. All the necessary software needed to develop projects and prepare for exams are already installed. Common areas located within the premises are equipped with WIFI connection.

Library – Fashion

It ‘a space dedicated to the consultation of domestic and international fashion books and magazines.

Library – Design – Visual Arts – Management

IED has two libraries: one of Design – Visual Arts – Management in via Sciesa 3 and the other specialized in Fashion, in via Pietrasanta 14. Each library offers useful support for learning and research (books, newspapers, magazines, audiovisual materials), available for consultation and loan.

Photo Studio

These spaces are dedicated to the photo shootings of objects and people. The equipment includes lighting and cameras.  Covering more than 400 square meters, it allows the performance of different sets simultaneously.

Modelling Lab

The lab allows the student to verify the design assumptions and to learn how to use the technical equipment necessary for experimentation, representation and communication of the projects. An important part of the practical activities of design courses takes place here: the activities are carried out by the student with the use of machinery and equipment, under the guidance of technicians and laboratory assistants.

Recording Studio

These spaces are dedicated to carrying out audio recording, mixing and preparation of live sets. One of the two laboratories is acoustically treated and it includes a box reserved to Sound Mixing. The equipment includes tools for sound recovery, listening and production.

Video Lab

It is an environment dedicated to building video sets, from the shooting to the editing. The equipment includes lighting, shooting, editing and postproduction tools.

Video (cutting) Lab

It is a Lab dedicated to the testing of interactive techniques and tools for creating video installations. The goal is to make available to the student’s high-level laboratories, enabling prospective film makers to gain experience in the construction of video installations.

Camera Obscura

It’s a high-level Lab that allows photographers to gain experience in film development and black and white printing.
