The Master in Business for Arts and Culture provides an in-depth theoretical preparation, combined with a creative and managerial vision allowing students to define and manage specific projects and/or create start-ups within the cultural sphere. The Master is aimed at graduate students interested in working in the field of contemporary art and cultural entrepreneurship, but also at practitioners and consultants who are already operating in related sectors, interested to broaden their perspective and their desire to acquire new ideas and expertise.
PROFESSIONE REGISTRAR – FORMAZIONE AVANZATA

The Registrar is a relatively new professional role in artistic and museum fields: he guarantee the proper manipulation and conservation of art and ensures a safe and suitable art storage and handling. The registrar operates from the management of a loan request to the realization of a temporary event hosting the same borrowed pieces of art. The course, promoted by IED Venezia is unique in Italy in training exhibition registrar, that is a more and more demanded professional role demanded by cultural institutions.

The course aims at providing both theoretical and practical analysis tools encouraging a personal and critical perspective. The Master in Arts Management is truly unique due to its itinerant formula. The study plan is divided in the two prestigious locations of Florence and Rome, with the addition of Venice, with a one week workshop, to engage students in a grand tour of contemporary art and education, with a focus on the jobs of the future.
The Arts Manager operates with a highly interdisciplinary method and is intended to be a fundamental figure in the activities of public and private institutions, with many areas of professional application. With this Master, IED will form a central figure for the life of cultural institutions, engaged in art project management, capable of identifying innovative content, of structuring a comprehensive event schedule, of planning and developing fundraising events and resource management.

The Conservation of Contemporary art is a central issue nowadays. The variety and originality of materials, the use of new media, the fleeting and immaterial nature of some performances and happenings make this a constantly changing field missing specialist professionals.
Starting from this an from the features of the 2 IED seats -Accademia di Belle Arti Aldo Galli – IED Como and lED Venezia made an agreement offering an ambitious project: the Master in Contemporary Art Conservation, a program centered on contemporary art conservation and the restoration of used materials.
The participants participate in frontal lessons, workshops and technical labs, held by professionals, both in Como and Venice; moreover they have the chance to visit worldwide famous museums and institutions.

Is not a simple sketchbook course, it’s an opportunity offered to students coming from all around the world to meet, experience and represent a unique city in a very original way, deepening the knowledge of its historical and contemporary context.
Nature and Street Photography: Venezia e la sua Laguna
t is a very mysterious place the Lagoon, a very fragile and exposed place, where the “Nature and Street Photography”students could live an exclusive opportunity to learn the photographic techniques using a unique light effect and special water reflex. The course promoted wants to be a special didactic experience, where nature and human life cross themselves in an original way, having at the same time the occasion to discover forgotten professions and a secret Venice, not visible to the tourists.
Contemporary Art and Architecture in Venice – The Biennal Exhibition
What the summer course in Contemporary Art and Architecture in Venice: the Biennal Exibithion want to analyze is the relation between contemporary art and architecture, looked from different points of view and prospective, so to provide its students with all the knowledge and tools useful to understand the new trend and challenge in Arts and Architecture. The training path will be completed by a specific focus on the Art Foundations located in the city of Venice, try to understand what they represent and which is the relation with the artist exposed and with the local community too.

The Master in Curatorial Practice promoted by IED VENEZIA is a program dealing – in a complete and pragmatic way – with the exhibition design direction and management related to the art field and beyond, training professionals ready to enter the art industry.
The global Art scenario includes nowadays more and more physical and virtual places representing as much projects opportuniities: museums, exhibition spaces, public and private galleries, biennals, fairs, platforms, seats ecc.
The Master tackles in a very pragmatic and thorough approach design, curatorship and management of artistic (and not only) exhibitions, training effective professionals. The strengths are both prestige and the unique position of Venice as a real global artistic reference, the international faculty – coordinated by Miguel Amado – including leaders of curatorship, research in humanities field, artists and professionals.
COMMUNICATE ART: FROM STORYTELLING TO SOCIAL MEDIA – SPECIALIZATION COURSE

Narrate culture in a strategic and original way is both a complex and gentle task demanding technique and inspiration, besides a specific knowledge of different channels and available communication media. The trained professional is the Storyteller Specialist, that is a professional who can manage the complex communication in artistic and cultural fields, using the tale techniques as a strategy to embroil audience and promote the cultural event as well as the instituion.
PLANNING OF CULTURAL EVENTS – SPECIALIZATION COURSE
IED Firenze | 150 hours – evening attendance – in February
The course is promoted by IED Firenze, Festival della Creatività and Teatro della Pergola. The course – that has come to the 7th edition – trains an event manager in social-cultural field.
The course offers the fundamental tools to work in festivals organization, shows, exhibitions or event agencies.
Thanks to selected professors, participants start from designing a concept, go on with choosing the contents and the relevant techniques to realize them to end with details of executive production. At the same time the course deepens themes such as sponsor research and participation in competitions, with a focus on communication and marketing.
