One of the objectives of the Master course is to make the student able to exactly understand each single step - pre-production, production and post-production – of the realization process of an animated content.
The Master course in Cartoon Animation was developed to train professionals who can effectively meet the following requirements: they have to be animators with a solid “classic” education however up with the times, professionals able to work in the different steps of the production, from the creation of a character to the storyboard, from the writing of a plot to the complete animation, to use the different techniques - traditional, “paperless” 2D digital, 3D – and, if necessary, to combine them.
The Master course is divided into two different sections: Theoretical Lessons and Practical Workshop.
The cultural pathway aims at giving students an elaborated historical-cultural approach allowing them to have a critical and methodological viewpoint through the study of works, authors and techniques that made the history of animation and of the markets segments to which it belongs.
This part of the course will be developed by watching videos and by meeting authors and professionals working in the field who will be invited to provide the students with notions and suggestions - according to their skills – that can be useful for their introduction in the animation world.
Great attention will be given to the meeting with production and business realities, so that the students can learn how to exactly use the software and the other “tools of their trade” supported by teachers who will lead them in the development of their personal technique.
Therefore, the workshop section will be developed on real projects, that every time will be completely realized on a brief and, where possible, also in partnership with realities external to the Master course. Each workshop will be held by an expert or groups of experts working in the field.
