The workshop looks to introduce the basic concepts of this technique and is geared towards illustrators interested in getting to know features of an area that is gaining worldwide strength, with Brasil as an up and coming market.
The workshop will be divided in two parts:

Graphic Facilitation Workshop - with Luis Rosenthal (Ludic Group)

The concept of graphic facilitation is rapidly winning popularity in the European and American Corporate sector, as a form of visual language to document events.
The workshop looks to introduce the basic concepts of this technique and is geared towards illustrators interested in getting to know features of an area that is gaining worldwide strength, with Brasil as an up and coming market.
The workshop will be divided in two parts:
1. introduction about the technique and analisis of projects from the best visual facilitators (or scribes) in Europe, through a video demo.
2. practical module, where ilustrators can test their skills with real examples and recieve orientation about practical techniques of visual facilitation.
Aswell as this, Illustrator portfolios will be shown, with the intention of training a team of collaborators for events of the Ludic Group in Sao Paulo.
Luis Rosenthal: Project manager and Producer of the Ludic Group, a british company that works conceptually with design (design-led thinking) with the idea of raising the value of large organizations through innovation and creativity.
His focal interest is graphic facilitation and the possibilities that such a practice can offer as an aid to organizational learning, through the translation of ideas and concepts in illustrations developed during corporate events, talks and workshops.
With an MSc in Management, Organizations and Governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor degree in Industrial Design from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Luis dedicated himself to the creation of innovative practices for organisations through management tools and graphic design.

During the course, the students will be presented with ways of breaking the mental block many have with working with their hands, both in product or initial prototype creations, aswell as how to materialize an idea and take it onto a creative level.
"The students will work with cuttings, folds and collages, without using a computer, with the intention of un-blocking their creativity", so states the designer. The project will be completed with a contextualization of the product according to the present market.

Andre Cruz is the main designer of a studio called Andre Cruz e Idéias and develops furniture, corporate gifts, lighting and interiors. Award winner at the The Sant Ettienne
Biennial, The Museu da Casa Brasileira and Abimóvel (Associação Brasileira das Industrias do Mobiliário - The Brazilian Association for the Furniture Industry). He has exhibited works in Tokyo, Paris and Milan.
