Venice
Venice – ever since the symbol of culture, art and commerce – is still a town suspended between earth and water; a place where the complexity of the city life weakens thanks to the rhythm imposed by nature and the unique relationship between the sea and the lively land reality.
IED Venice, opened since 2007, acquires a new position in the heart of the city relocating in Palazzo Franchetti. As the school revolves around creativity, experimentation of new languages and innovation, IED Venice finds in its new seat a place cultural activities and events are promoted, implemented, and managed by vocation.
Moreover, Venice represents both an incentive and an opportunity thanks to its commercial and original production history, its business dynamism, its international cultural importance and its influence on the Veneto Region.
The lagoon city and its inland – with its rich history, culture and nature – are also places with solid production and industrial traditions. It is enough to remember Riviera del Brenta, famous for the production of leather shoes, and Murano with its artistic glasses that represent two districts characterized by an old production tradition and a great international experience; the cultural heritage district that groups the companies working in the restoration and preservation of works of art; and the presence, on the territory, of systems able to involve thousands of small and medium companies working.
In Venice too, IED shows itself as the centre of the project culture that is able to combine knowledge and action
