This course prepares a new generation of designers to provide solutions to the challenges presented by IoT by using the methodology and tools of service design.
Both humans and things (gadgets, equipment, devices, machines, household appliances and many others) nowadays need to be connected to the Internet. And all these elements can interact with each other and with people, forming what is known as the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT involves many different, interrelated technical concepts and thus requires critical thinking and holistic design.
The market is therefore demanding more specialised professionals who understand present and future scenarios, realise the potential of existing technology and display a creative approach to product and service design.
The Master in Design of Services for IoT prepares a new generation of designers to provide solutions to the challenges presented by IoT by using the methodology and tools of service design. The course’s clearly creative and technological approach encourages new ways of designing, learning and interacting, as well as monetising solutions in various business models.
Objectives
The course is divided into interrelated, confluent blocks of content through which the necessary expertise is developed to achieve the training objectives. Theoretical-practical sessions, workshops, roundtable discussions and conferences are combined, resulting in a training proposal that is dynamic and decidedly project-based.
Real projects provided by companies in the sector are developed with hands-on methodologies, thereby helping to acquire knowledge through their application. Teamwork is also essential as a soft skill to develop professional teams in one or several companies.
The Master is aimed at business designers, entrepreneurs and those interested in more strategic functions in companies, whether they are linked or not to the technology sector.
Recent graduates or degree-holders looking to apply IoT in their own projects.
The Master is also designed for developers, graphic designers, multimedia or interactive designers, digital product designers, related professionals wishing to explore the creative possibilities offered by IoT technology in its various fields and also managers and professionals wanting to carry out business projects based on these technologies.
It is also suitable for people with proven academic and/or professional experience in the field of design or technology who are interested in exploring the creative tools of the methodology of service design linked to IoT.
Professional Opportunities
After completing the Master, students acquire the skills to develop professionally both in studios and in design, technical, technological and innovation departments, as well as to develop their own projects and business ideas linked to the design of IoT services and products.
