In recent years, sound design has taken on an increasingly central role in the creative industries, thanks to the ability to design, produce, and integrate sounds that enrich visual, interactive, or immersive experiences.
The Bachelor of Arts in Sound Design will guide you through the exploration of the many languages and forms of sound, as well as the most advanced audio production tools.
Through a programme that combines cultural studies with practical and workshop-based activities, you will experiment with sound design in various contexts such as audiovisual media, music, and the performing arts, collaborating on interdisciplinary projects with students from other courses.
Over the three years, you will learn recording and mixing techniques for creating sound effects and soundtracks, applying them to projects in sound branding, audiovisual and social content, music production, multimedia installations, gaming, and live performance. You will have access to state-of-the-art labs and technologies — both within the curriculum and for your personal projects — that will allow you to translate your vision into sound, from the initial idea to project development, production, and finalisation.
The teaching staff you will meet are leading professionals working across different areas of sound. During the course, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with partners from the production and cultural sectors, exploring the many applications of sound design: film and TV, podcasts, music production; communication and advertising; multimedia performances and interactive systems, apps, video games, and VR.
