Take a creative, technical and critical journey to stand out as a fashion professional with purpose

The Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design prepares you as a fashion professional capable of responding to the new and plural realities of the world with a sustainable, responsible vision and your own personal touch.

Throughout your learning, you will get to know the industry from the inside, breaking with preconceived ideas and understanding your role as an agent of change in today's society.

You will acquire a solid technical foundation, which combines the preservation of tradition and craftsmanship with the exploration of innovation (computer-aided design, digital manufacturing or virtual reality). At the same time, you will work on other fundamental skills, such as those related to business management, expression and communication, or leadership skills.

In your third year, you will choose your track between Prêt-á-Porter and Styling and Communication, which will allow you to delve deeper into your area of interest through specific subjects and techniques, building a global professional profile in fashion.

From day one, you will immerse yourself in the development of projects, many of them in collaboration with companies and cultural institutions, in a cooperative work environment of research, experimentation and deep understanding of the fashion design, production and marketing processes.

All this under the guidance of a teaching team of prestigious professionals, who will enhance your autonomy and offer you the space you need to explore your own motivations and interests.

At the end of your studies, you will complete a final project and you will have a portfolio that will be your best letter of introduction to the labour market.

Among others, fashion workshops, with industrial quality equipment for different types of sewing or machines for specialized work such as knitting machines, 3D printers, leather, embroidery or triple drive machines.

For those people who see fashion as a tool of personal expression and, at the same time, with the ability to positively impact present and future society.

Also for those whose goal is entrepreneurship in the sector, since the program addresses skills and notions of business development and management.

This degree in Fashion Design goes far beyond the traditional conception of the industry: it offers you a deep knowledge of the design, construction and communication processes from a comprehensive perspective that combines aesthetics, innovation, sustainability, craftsmanship and new technologies.

Another distinctive aspect of the Fashion School is that it enhances your uniqueness, promoting a global approach that respects and values different cultures and visions with the aim of contributing to creating a more inclusive and plural sector.

To do this, you will be accompanied by a teaching team of active professionals, who will give you the autonomy and freedom of expression you need to advance in defining your professional identity.

You will work on the development of a wide variety of projects, collaborating with companies and organizations in the sector. This connection with the reality of the market is reinforced with other activities within the program, such as monographic courses, master classes, workshops, visits, talks, etc.

All of this at IED Madrid, a point of reference in design education and part of a network with centres in three countries.
