From IED to the star system: Beyoncé wears Francesco Murano’s dress

It doesn’t often happen to a young designer who has recently completed his studies, to see his work projected into reality or – even better – into the star system. It happened instead to Francesco Murano, who graduated in July 2019 in Fashion Design at IED Milano. On January 26th, 2020 Beyoncé appeared at Roc Nation’s pre-Grammys brunch, the annual event that precedes the prestigious Grammy Awards in the morning, wearing the Ossimoro Dress, which comes directly from Francesco’s thesis collection entitled “Ossimoro Plastico“. Dressed in a gray low cut with wavy shapes and wide neckline, Beyoncé was the chicest celebrity at the event according to Harper Bazaar magazine, and the pop star wanted to appear with the outfit on her IG profile.

For the 22-year-old Murano, IED alumnus already winner of Milano Moda Graduate, this is not the first success: the shoes from the same thesis collection were worn again by Beyoncé in the video clip of the song “Spirit”. Thanks to the participation of IED in the Italian Fashion Chamber event dedicated to young talents, Francesco Murano’s creations were noticed by the stylist of the pop star, Zerina Akers. Once again, the presence of IED at one of the biggest fashion events in Italy, organized precisely to give room to young designers, allowed Francesco’s collection to achieve great visibility in a record time.
