In partnership with Rome’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MACRO) and Casa delle Letterature, IED presents the 3rd edition of BELVEDERE in Rome, a four-day showcase of the best visual magazines and art books in contemporary visual culture.
The third edition of BELVEDERE will be held in Rome from December 12 to 16. Focusing on creative publishing, the event explores the latest trends in visual magazines and art books.
The festival is organized by the IED Rome, under the artistic direction of Luigi Vernieri,Director of IED Visual Communication. In line with the innovative research themes of the Institute, the event presents the best international visual publications in partnership with MACRO – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Romaand Casa delle Letterature.
The most interesting novelty in this new edition of BELVEDERE is that, for the very first time, commercial visual magazines enter a contemporary art museum not as a complementary part of the setting, but as the objects of an exhibition, valuable works of art of great aesthetic significance.
MACRO will be hosting a selection of 100 visual magazines in an emotional setting inspired by the ages of life.
Casa delle Letterature will instead host an exhibition of art books, non-periodical projects with striking visual impact, cult editorial products representing an innovative vehicle for a new search for creativity and fresh thinking.
The BELVEDERE festival will also include an open lesson dedicated to Fashion magazines, which will be held on December 14 at IED Moda, in the Testaccio district, with a selection of images and still life photographs showing the latest trends in visual communication.
