Francesco was awarded the Franca Sozzani prize (awarded by Altaroma and Vogue Italia, together with the other Italian fashion institutions, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and Pitti Immagine), in which he will receive a cash prize and two orientation and support meetings with experts from the respective organisations. His collection will be featured in a photo shoot in the March issue of Vogue Italia. Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana will also allow Francesco Murano to present his collection in the Milano Moda Donna calendar in September 2021.
Also Jaime Álvarez, former student of the Undergraduate Degree in Fashion Design at IED Madrid and creative director of MANS, has been awarded the highest prize in the Spanish edition, Who’s On Next 2020, always hosted by the prestigious magazine Vogue.
Thus, Jaime was awarded a prize of 100,000 euros, which will be used for his international projection. In addition to the registration at ACME, the Association of Spanish Fashion Creators.
The designer, during the presentation, defined his signature as “a combination of craftsmanship, avant-garde and new masculinity.” His garments reinvent the classic style and give it a modern aesthetic, paying special attention to all the details.
In the 9 editions of the awards, four IED Spain students have already won the award:
María Ke Fisherman (2014)
Moises Nieto (2016)
