Back to the Futures represents an important event for the constantly growing GGJ Community. It is an opportunity to assess the results reached so far at the local level, to give the world new, better, solutions. Within the symposium, design and SDGs experts will promote a cross-cultural dialogue, a conversation regarding fundamental issues, such as: social and cultural bias in creative practices; the desired and pursued transition from a Human Centred Design to a Planet Centred Design; the aspects of health and well-being in digital societies, across distance, intrinsic or imposed, and the desire of fascination. Introduced and led by Nick Verouden – Programme Manager at Design Across Cultures track at Digital Society School (Amsterdam University of Applied Science), Simona Maccagnani – Head of the Research Centre at IED – and Gabriel Weirich – innovation manager, design thinker, lecturer at IED Milano and coach of the GGJ – the speakers will share view points and discuss on the topics at hand, and will answer the questions posed by the Community. IED – single reference in Italy – is organizing this year’s Global Goals Jam fully online, in accordance with COVID-19 regulations. Milan and Rome are part of the more than 90 cities than each year involve their talents and leverage on their skills to promote real solutions to the most urgent global challenges.
