Design Competition 2019. The winning project is by the Alumni Vladimir Mazzoletti and Gabriele Bianchi
In the middle of the 2019 Design Week at the Palazzo Lombardia in Milan, it was held the proclamation of the selected projects that will be exhibited at Expo Dubai 2020 as part of the Design Competition.
Out of hundreds of projects 20 winners have been selected, among them Desert Star, a project by Vladimir Mazzoletti and Gabriele Bianchi, Alumni of the Accademia di Belle Arti Aldo Galli.
Promoted by the Lombardy Region and the Milan Chamber of Commerce Monza Brianza Lodi, the project Design Competition in Expo Dubai 2020 – through the format of consolidated success of the 6 previous editions of Design Competition – will lead to the creation of prototypes resulting from the collaboration between young designers and local companies.
Thanks to Design Competition, companies in Lombardy that share a design oriented vision will have the opportunity to give visibility and concreteness to the ideas of young designers under 35, Italian and Emirates, developing innovative projects that would in an original way the Expo theme “Connecting minds, Creating the future”, focusing on new paths of development and innovation regarding the sub-themes “Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity”.
An international jury, composed of representatives of the project partners and international experts, selected the 20 project ideas among all those submitted.
The winning prototypes will be exhibited from September 2019 in various locations in Italy, presented to the Commissioners involved in the construction of the Emirates Pavilions and at the Emirates market, and finally exhibited in Dubai at the Expo from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021.
The company that will follow the young designers in the production is Maglificio Benacci Snc.
