“Euritmia del Sussurro” – IED Graduate Fashion Show 2019

The modernist setting of Palazzo Castiglioni hosted IED Graduates Fashion Show 2019, a new performative installation – as a part of Milano Moda Uomo – taking shape from the “whisper”, intended as a pneuma, a generator of movement.

On June 16th Euritmia del Sussurro presented the collections of IED Milano best thirteen graduates in Fashion Design, Shoes and Accessories Design, Jewelry Design in the academic year 2018/19.

The thesis projects of these students compose the entire story: a plurality of visions, representations of the world and aesthetic ideals. At the base, a single working method, strongly anchored in the tradition of Italian design: a constant combination of creativity and technical skills that leads IED designers to become authors of the entire collection, from the initial creative idea to the realization of individual clothes and accessories.

The result is the thirteen stories that Euritmia del Sussurro presented at Palazzo Castiglioni: self-portraits, reflections on body, nature, art, united by a renewed, fluid and lucid interpretation of the postmodern canon.

Euritmia del Sussurro – IED Graduates Fashion Show 2019 presented the results of the renewed collaboration with the textile company Luxury Jersey, awarding the namesake prize.

Among the seventeen selected students (who made two outfits in jersey in their thesis collection) Arianna Ablondi Pedretti (women’s collection) was awarded a prize and a special mention was given to Domenico del Gais (men’s collection). The winners of the Luxury Jersey Award received cash prizes, a supply of fabrics and the possibility of collaborating with Luxury Jersey in the creation of innovative knitted fabrics. Mr Mario Boselli – Honorary President of the National Chamber for Italian Fashion – and Federico Boselli – Founder and President of Luxury Jersey awarded the prize.

Moreover, among the 13 students who presented their creations, Pitti Tutoring & Consulting (the direction of Pitti Immagine that supports and enhances fashion designers in their professional and creative path in the fashion market) awarded the “Pitti Tutoring & Consulting Reward” to Giuseppe Serra. The young Sardinian creative author of Sa Mama and Su Sole collection will have the opportunity to hold three meetings with Luca Rizzi (Tutoring & Consulting Director) on three specific topics – Portfolio Review/Setup, Orientation Meeting and Strategy Meeting – useful to support and guide the most talented designers in their professional career.

For the third consecutive year, Sara Maino – Deputy Editor in Chief of Vogue Italia and Head of Vogue Talents, awarded the Franca Sozzani Prize, a special award named after the historic Director of Vogue Italia and, for over ten years, Scientific Director of IED Moda Milano. The award was won by the graduate Francesco Murano, already winner (last June 14) of “Milano Moda Graduate 2019”, mentoring program of the National Chamber of Fashion – aimed at supporting the best talents of fashion schools in the country.

IED finalists at Milano Moda Graduate 2019 included Alessia Scasserra and Domenico Del Gais, this latter selected for the creation of a special outfit dedicated to the YKK Italia section, the event’s main partner.
