IED Alumni: Anastasiia Yatsuk

Anastasiia Yatsuk has gratuated in the Master course of Design – Innovation, Strategy and Product at IED Milano. This study period served as a great starting point and foundation for her career. As a matter of fact, she could develop her skills through real working experiences, group projects and expand her network gaining valuable contacts.

“At IED you are taught to build a process based on communication and teamwork with people of mixed backgrounds and nationalities and the practical experiences help you move forward in your career path, but your further achievements depend on your actions” Anastasiia affirms.

During her staying at IED Milano she has completed different projects for real companies. For instance, during the internship for VSDS Valerio Sommella Design Studio, well-known designer that works with clients such as: Moooi, Kundalini, Alcantara, Calligaris, Honda, Falmec, she designed a product for Alessi.

“The project included market analysis, trend research, learning about the history and values of the 100 years’ old brand and integration of IoT (Internet of Things) technology. The final product was Air Purifier ‘SENSAERO’ with electronic fragrance system that was later displayed at Salone del Mobile 2018 and it was nominated for ADI Compasso D’oro. Moreover, I could create a full-scale prototype of the product at IED lab using 3d printing technology.

Two interesting events Anastasiia took part in were the Design Exhibition at Dubai Design District d3, where she developed a graphic design project and worked on the art direction and the Salone del Mobile 2019 where she presented her ANKNOWN project: 3d printed ceramics manufactured by an innovative Ukrainian company, Kwambio. The project was a success and it was showcased also at the Paris Design Week.

Eventually, Anastasiia wants to give an advice to all the students that are starting their studies with IED:

“IED will give you the chance to present yourself and explore your abilities. Be ready to receive lots of new information, but remember that a lot depends on you as well. If you are pro-active, you will learn a lot. The Master’s program in Design Innovation, Strategy and Product is based on ‘Design Thinking Methodology’. You will learn how to initiate a project, how to present each stage of development process to the client and how to receive a final outcome”.

After graduating Anastasiia founded with a collegue the ‘CAPSULA’ design studio that is focused on delivering conceptual projects, offering a complete branded experience for end-users through space, product and service. Anastasiia is also working on ‘Art&Technology’ projects experimenting with innovative production of 3d printed ceramics.
