IED at World Design Capital México 2018 – Socially Responsible Design

In 2018, Mexico City has been appointed as World Design Capital, so the city organised a rich programme focused on the experience of inhabiting or transforming the city through exhibitions and cultural events dealing with the topics related to the most important urban challenges of our era.

IED will take part to this event with conferences and workshops by José Francisco García, Director of the IED City Lab in Madrid on the following topics:

  • Creative Projects for More Human Cities -Transforming Cities from Creativity.
  • Orange Effects: A Creative Model of Urban Activation.

The conferences will take place at Museo Nacional de Antropología on Friday, October 12th, at 10:00 am.

Another important appointment in October is Mexico Design Week, that will be part of the WDC programme. IED will participate to the activities and will grant a scholarship for a summer course in 2019 to the winner of Interuniversity Circuit, an event organised within Mexico Design Week and World Design Capital. This initiative encourages universities to open their doors to all the students in Mexico City and to present their ideas and projects on Social Responsible Design.
