IED for Pitti 93 focuses on green with EcoEgo

Istituto Europeo di Design issues the challenge on the occasion of Pitti Immagine 93 with four days of activities that will be held in its premises from the 9th to the 12th January 2018. Livia Firth, designer and creator of Eco-Age, a foundation actively promoting less impacting production processes in the fashion industry and more conscious consumption, will be in IED Florence (via Bufalini 6r) on the 10th of January at 10 AM to inspire students from its schools in Milan, Rome, Florence, Turin, Venice, Como – Accademia Aldo Galli, Cagliari and Barcelona, who will have to try out sustainable materials and techniques in the production of an eco-friendly capsule collection.

EcoEgo is the name of the project designed by IED, which involves the collaboration of companies of excellence in Made in Italy, which were selected for their environmentally conscious production processes and will supply the fabrics and raw materials necessary for creating clothes and accessories during the workshop days. Such works will be started at the IED Florence – on Tuesday, the 9th of January at 10 AM – with the classroom brief for students where indications and inspirations will be given by the special guide Tiziano Guardini for creating the green capsule collection. Tiziano Guardini, designer being well known for sustainable fashion, is in fact the winner of the Franca Sozzani GCC Award for Best Emerging Designer, an international contest promoted by the Milan Chamber of Fashion in collaboration with Eco-Age. The workshop will continue in the following days, with creative incursions by partner companies, including TEXMODA, Isko, Filmar, Ecoalf, Econyl, in order to guide and inspire the students involved until the final prototypes presentation to be held on Friday, the 12th of January at IED Florence.
