IED in Romania @ workshop on sustainability with Vfair

HANDLE WITH CARE: THE NEW FASHION DIMENSION

In 2050 about 70% of the world population will live in a city. This means that it will be necessary to reconsider our lifestyle, especially the relationship between people and spaces and between different cultures and new apparel clothing lines – that would help us living better the new cities. What would the future of fashion be? Which dress will be the most appropriate? Today fashion is becoming more and more introspective trying to find the right path for not being again the second most polluting industry in the world. Words like eco, recycle or sustainability must not remain just words or vague concepts.

IED – Istituto Europeo di Design is starting a journey to raise awareness among the young creatives to find ideas and solutions that could save the Planet and fashion could be one tool to inform people about resources. To be sustainable doesn’t only mean to make choices that would respect animal rights but it requires to involve much larger aspects such as the virtuous circle (from the creativity to the distribution).

BE ACTIVE: if you are a young fashion designer or just interested in the world of fashion join us in a workshop that would investigate how fashion could become a sustainable field, with IED Art Director Giovanni Ottonello. In particular, the workshop aims to start from these thoughts and, through teamwork, intends to create visionary but also realistic collections.
