IED in Thailand at the Bangkok Design Week
IED confirms its contribution to the 2020 edition of the Bangkok Design Week, one of the most relevant design-related events in Thailand, in partnership with CEA – Creative Economy Agency (former TCDC – Thailand Creative and Design Center).
Carlo Branzaglia, IED Ambassador and Scientific Coordinator of the IED Postgraduate School in Milan, will hold the conference Designing Resiliency. Design Coping with Communities.
Design – intended as a simplification toolkit for problem setting – offers a methodology for resilience within communities in natural, economic or social crisis. Communities which are involved in participated design dynamics: from Modena surrounding areas hit by earthquake (2012), to redesigned industrial areas such as airport cities (Bologna, 2013-2015), moreover from collective ecosystems (Distretto Popolare Evoluto, 2017), to public health interventions for entire neighbourhoods (Gorla, Milan, 2019).
Bangkok Design Week 2020 tackles the theme of Resilience: New Potential for Living, as an intellectual playground for creative people, government agencies, business enterprises to show a collective effort to lay down the building blocks of resilience capacity for Bangkok.
BKKDW is a growth engine for Thailand’s creative industries in many ways, by showcasing creative business and designs, stimulating competitiveness, providing a local and foreign business networking opportunity, generating an economic momentum to downstream businesses.
