IED Istituto Europeo di Design, participates once again in Lima Design Week taking place from November 4th through 28th, 2021 in Lima, Peru.

On this occasion, LDW has invited the best Peruvian creatives with international experience to share their international expertise  with all participants and representing IED we will have:

Ximena Silva, a graduate of  Master in Sustainable Design- IED Barcelona and  Product Engineer in Volkswagen Group Spain , will offer a conference titled “The user experience in automotive design.” The conference will talk about how nowadays design methodologies are focused on the end user, so it is important to take their opinion into account when creating the pre-concept of a product or service. Currently, the automotive industry has gone from being a functional product to a more complex product, it is a complete software in which all its functionalities are presented in the so-called “infotainment” or vehicle interface from where the user interacts with all the options that the vehicle may have. We will learn about how this experience develops and how design is an important part of it.

Diego Yamashiro, an alumnus from Fashion Design at IED Madrid, is a prominent and recognized fashion designer with an international career, who works for international film and music artists. Diego has created his own brand “Di Uai”  and will offer a conference where he will share his successful career and experience, analyze the importance of the value chain and the Core Business in the fashion design process.

At the end of the Event and during the Lima Design Week Congress, Horge Perez, Director of Innovation IED Barcelona, will offer a conference on “ECOIED, a Multidisciplinary Sustainability” where he will explain to us about how the 3RE can be incorporated through spaces and processes. Sustainability is not only putting green around us, it is a concept that must be integrated into our way of designing spaces in a circular way, which must incorporate REduction of materials and productions, through REuse of the elements that we design, of the spaces, and of the uses of what we design. If we are good designers, the same element will have at least 7 lives, so that only after this complete circular process, we can RECYCLE it. Sustainability is not only eco-design, but designing an eco-strategy, which is present throughout the project process, whether for a service, a product or a space.

Lima Design Week integrates different disciplines of design, art and culture. For their 2021 edition, Lima Design Week adapts its format to the current situation. For 28 there will be a virtual design party with various educational and cultural activities where users can participate through digital platforms.
