PROGOLD REWARDS IED TORINO CREATIVITY
Also this year the students in their third year of the Three-year course in Jewelry Design and Accessories participated in the Progold Design Contest, the competition promoted by Progold, a Vicenza-based company pioneer in direct 3D printing in precious metals.
Led by the Coordinator Daniela Bulgarelli and the teacher Gabriele Orsi, the students have designed collections to be realized with the technique of Service SLM (Selective Laser Melting), the laser processing that, starting from 3D models, allows the creation of jewelry in gold, platinum and titanium with light shapes and without welds.
In competition with the proposals of the jewellery schools of the Kostroma State University and the Escuela Joyeria de Còrdoba, the projects were presented on Sunday 19th January at the Party Progold 2020, organized in Vicenza in conjunction with Vicenzaoro, one of the most important events in the world for the jewellery sector. To win the Best Design Award, in addition to winning the online contest, was Gaia Cozzi from IED Torino with Escalation, a collection inspired by the section of a prism with different and irregular faces, as unique and multiple as the facets of the wearer.
