Sustainable fashion can no longer be regarded as a passing trend; on the contrary, it has become an urgent necessity. Announcing a call to action on this topic at Pitti Immagine Uomo 95 is the Istituto Europeo di Design, which together with Consorzio Italiano Implementazione Detox – CID and Greenpeace Italia has launched The Time is Now! project.

The Time is Now! began with the selection of a group of IED students from the 3rd year of the Fashion Design and Fashion Stylist courses at the Milan, Rome, Florence, Turin, Venice, Cagliari and Como locations.

The young designers, coming from all over the world, have been chosen with a casting held at IED Firenze by a jury consisting of Andrea Cavicchi, Chairman Consorzio Detox, Igor Zanti, IED Firenze Director, Sara Azzone, Director of IED Moda Milano, Paola Pattacini, Director of IED Moda Roma, Giovanni Ottonello, IED Art Director and Sara Sozzani Maino, Deputy Director Special Fashion Projects Vogue Italia and in charge of the Vogue Talents editorial project.

The group of 16 IED students will join a tour to discover Prato’s Sustainable Fashion Supply Chain on the 7th of January, then they will take part in a workshop in IED Firenze from the 8th to the 10th of Januray, under the creative direction of David Parisi and Alessia Creaformer IED students and co-founders of the Casamadre brand  to the development of 5 eco-friendly menswear capsule collections.

The ultimate goal is to present the collections at Pitti Immagine Uomo in June. Stay tuned!
