CORONAVIRUS – NOVEMBER 6,2020 UPDATE

In compliance with the provisions of the new Prime Ministerial Decree (11/3/2020), IED informs his entire community on the measures taken in their sites, differentiated according to the region in which they are located.

IED ITALIA – REACTION, CARE, COMMUNITY: OUR GREATEST TEACHING FROM COVID

The Coronavirus emergency has brought loss, damage and enormous inconvenience. However, we need to be able to reverse even negative situations and this event has been also a great lesson for us. In the news find out more about IED future projects.

May 25th Update 

IED ITALIA FOR ITS STUDENTS: FINANCIAL AIDS, RENDER FARM AND ACCESS TO THE WORKSHOPS

IED presents a plan in favour of its students to ensure that, in view of the end of the academic year, the quality of their studies in the second semester remains high, even from remote. IED will provide financial aids for the students, render farms and the access to the workshops.

DESIGN SUPPORTING THE REACTIONS TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

In time of Covid emergency designers and innovators, like IED Alumnus Federico Pilloni, are working on ideas and projects that can help to realize the most requested and less available protection tools: the masks.

CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCY LOCAL IED TASK FORCES AND FAQ

Due to the actual emergency, IED has activated local task forces in each of its locations and established direct communication lines with our students, especially for the international ones. Moreover, a document with the FAQ on COVID-19 has been published.

March 25th Update 

IED ITALIA SMART SCHOOL

More than two weeks after the activation of the IED Smart School, Istituto Europeo di Design has covered 143 courses in DL mode among all its 7 locations in Italy – for a total of more than 1200 lessons delivered weekly. More than 6700 students have benefited from the lessons and 1098 teachers have been involved.

IED BRAZIL – NOTIFICATION FOR THE STUDENTS –  ACTIVITIES RETURN WITH A FOCUS ON SPECIFIC SUBJECTS THAT DEMAND PHYSICAL PRESENCE

Since the beginning, IED Brazil remained committed to taking all necessary measurements to keep the routine of classes digitally and preserve the health of students, professors, collaborators and service providers. IED Brazil has shared with its community the planning, precaution measures and best-practices of sanitization and social distancing adopted to assure the safety of all throughout the return phases determined by the authorities.

March 17th Update 

IED SPAIN – NOTIFICATION FOR THE STUDENTS – CAMPUSES CLOSED IN MADRID AND BARCELONA AND ONLINE TRAINING

Following the joint resolution of the Deputy Regional Minister’s Offices of Educational Policy and Educational Organisation on instructions for educational centres, IED has suspended the on campus activities both for IED Madrid and IED Barcellona and has activated the online didactics.

March 11th Update 

IED NETWORK – ACADEMIC DIRECTOR’S LETTER TO THE STUDENTS

Riccardo Balbo, Dean of Istituto Europeo di Design, accompanies the start of the distance learning activities, made necessary by the current health emergency, with a call to the sense of belonging to a community: of creatives, designers, individuals at the service of the community itself.

March 9th Update

IED ITALIA – LAUNCH OF THE SMART SCHOOL

Starting on Monday, 9th March, a large part of the Institute’s course offering will switch to DL mode – distance-learning mode – with variations, additions and novelties, in order to gradually guarantee not only the delivery of courses, but also the continuity of relationships, which are the founding value of IED. Remote didactic activity will observe the traditional subdivision between theoretical lectures and practical or laboratory activities, combining individual work with live-streamed activities.

February 28th Update

IED ITALIA – GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW IS CANCELLED

The 90th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show will not take place, because of the decision of the Swiss Federal Council.
