The tale of a future that is born and grows slowly, finding its shape at the end of a path of evolution.

IED presents the fashion show FUTURE STARTS SLOW 2023 that will take place on Thursday, October 26th at 2:30 p.m. at BASE Milano (via Tortona 56) as part of Fashion Graduate Italia, the event organized by Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda to promote the excellence of Italian fashion schools.

12 IED talents graduated in Fashion Design from the Italian campuses, designed 10 capsule collections for men, women and genderless starting from the concept  “Do you remember the future?” proposed to them by Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda”. The result of their reflections is FUTURE STARTS SLOW 2023

The capsule collections represent a picture of the state of current fashion, a personal vision but still filtered by the change which takes place in the life of each person. At the center of each project, we always find the person: dress is an addition, accompanies the individual, dresses him but the focus remains always its interiority. An appeal to slow down and follow the natural scanning of time to everyone and more specifically to the Fashion System, for more sustainable production.

As part of the FGI event, IED also offers digital lectures and workshops dedicated to high school students. Below are the IED appointments; more information and registration at https://fashiongraduateitalia.it/workshop/

17/10 - Lecture: The future is not what it used to be: new scenarios, roles and careers in the fashion industry

19/10 - Workshop: Fashion Sketch

20/10 - Lecture: M for Fashion

Finally, the collaboration between FGI and the International Relations Office of the City of Milan for the Talent to Talent project is renewed again this year, with the aim of creating synergies with some cities twinned with Milan. The cities invited in 2023 are Toronto and São Paulo, so some garments by students from the IED São Paulo seat will also be on the catwalk.
