Crafting for good: a talk about the intrinsic relationship between fashion, art and craftmanship” is the title of the Fast Talks that will take place on March 7th with Danilo Venturi’s intervention at MAAT Gallery Lisbon.

IED Firenze’s director will participate in this round table moderated by the radio host Rui Maria Pêgo along with artist Joana Vasconcelos and Fabrica’s Design Director Sam Baron.

  • Sangue Novo

Supported by Seaside, the six Sangue Novo finalists selected during the last ModaLisboa edition had mentoring sessions with the judges and various fashion industry professionals while developing the new collections that will hit the runway on March 8th. The winner of the young designer’s competition will receive a Master’s in Fashion Brand Management at IED Firenze.

Olivia Spinelli, Head of Fashion School and Art Director at IED Milano, is among the jury along with fashion editor Miguel Flor, designer Joao Magalhães, Fucking Young! editor Adriano Batista, ModaLisboa’s Joana Jorge and RDD Textiles’ Ana Tavares.

  • Future Starts Slow

IED talents will present their graduate fashion show “Future starts slow” at Pátio di Galé on March 9th at 4 pm.

Six visions from IED Italia’s schools exploring what fragility means, the fear of transformation, the importance of self-knowledge, the respect towards our natural environment, the value of feeling or the memories of our experiences to transform them into unique garments, made with dedication, craftmanship and passion.

The designers are Angelica Siddi, Annarita Biava, Maria Chiara Sorbino, Matteo Rosellini, Cristian Bogliano and Alessio Dolfi and Carlotta Mora

The runway will be enriched by a selection of fashion films by IED Spain schools.

“Future Starts Slow” reflects the voice of generation that understands the importance of listening to your inner itself, caring and channelling a slow future through fashion, but aware that a better future is yet to come.
