Students have been able to learn about the applications of the spray-on fabric that went viral at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in fashion, lighting design, interior design and the healthcare sector

A current issue, an opinion leader, students and teachers. These are the four pillars on which "Mastering your Brain", IED Barcelona’s new proposal for community learning through critical thinking, is structured.

The first meeting of this series of events took place on Friday 24 March and the topic chosen was Fashion Tech & Sustainability. To discuss it, the School invited Dr. Manel Torres, creator of the spray-on fabric that went viral at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

The expert explained how this innovative, reusable and versatile material works, which can be used in fashion, lighting design and interior design (the fabric can incorporate elements such as citronella to repel mosquitoes, being very useful, for example, in yacht design). Spray-on fabric is also a material with interesting applications in the healthcare sector, as an alternative to conventional bandages or plaster casts.

Isabel Martínez, Creative Director and Co-coordinator of the Master in Fashion Creative Direction, was in charge of leading the dialogue and the questions from the students.
