The objective of this interactive clue-based game is to reach audiences that do not usually visit bookstores, especially generation Z, and involve them in the celebration of this festival

Follow the dragon to find virtual roses inside books and win prizes. This is what “Cerca del Tresor de Sant Jordi”, an augmented reality experience created by two alumni of IED Barcelona’s Master in Design for Virtual Reality, proposes on the occasion of Sant Jordi.

The objective of this interactive clue-based game is to reach audiences that do not usually visit bookstores, especially generation Z, and involve them in the celebration of this festival.

The player will start the treasure hunt by scanning a QR code with their mobile phone that will give them access to a map with the location of the participating bookstores, to which they can go, guided by a small green dragon. Once inside the bookstore, they will have to find the physical book corresponding to the clue and scan its cover to pick up the virtual rose that they may exchange for a small gift or a discount on the purchase of books. If they keep playing, they will be able to accumulate other prizes.

Conceived by Sonya Seddarasan and Jacqueline Montenegro, “Cerca del Tresor de Sant Jordi” will be active from 17 to 22 April.

The project counts on the collaboration of Òmnium Cultural and Ona, La Memòria, Casa Anita, Cap i Cua, Atzavara and El Genet Blau, all of them bookstores located in the Gràcia neighbourhood.
