Food Design Week: Emblemàtics by IED Barcelona Alumni

Within the framework of Food Design Week, taking place during Barcelona Design Week, two teams made up of former Interior and Product Design students took part in the gastronomic tour Els Emblemàtics [the Emblematics].

Organised by Barcelona Centre de Disseny, the graduates of the class of 2021 were actively involved in two restaurants along the route: Pla de la Garsa and Casa Rafols.

Mar Puigcortina and Sofia Novales took part in Pla de la Garsa, with an experience that looks to the past in a bid to highlight the value of the restaurant’s medieval history. 

“Herramientas del tiempo” [“Tools of Time”] created by Massimo Nocivelli and May Beydoun offers a gastronomic experience upon receiving the bill at Casa Rafols, by means of a sweet chocolate object, a nod to the premises’ past as a hardware store.

Two prototypes by IED Barcelona alumni at MICAM Milano
