Graduated at IED, Simone Bonanni is now an awarded designer that works for international brands. Find out more about his projects in this article.

Simone Bonanni is a Product Designer graduated in Industrial Design at IED, that is actually working for selected international brands such as AlessiMoooiMDF ItaliaFIAMFalper and Mingardo. Also, he is a member of the Product Design faculty at IED Milano.

His thesis project “Atmo” received an Honourable Mention at the 23rd ADI Compasso D'oro Award.

Simone focuses on product design and limited edition, investigating the world of creativity while simultaneously looking for new trends and fresh perspectives to inject in his work.

He considers objects as “activators of emotions” - in fact, he has switched the focus of his designs, to give more importance to the sphere of perception rather than the material one.

For instance, he created the Obon Table Collection for Moooi - three pieces inspired by “an ancient, earthy, irregular material: terracotta”. As reported on his website: “The tables’ design is the result of a patient process of combining shapes and volumes. Their graphical purity blends into the structure of ceramics, creating a unique mix of new and antique”. This project awarded him the Silver Medal at the A’DESIGN AWARD & COMPETITION.

Moreover, he has developed Kandisnky for Alessi. A technological facet for the kitchen of the future - “a sculpture with clear geometric shapes and colours determined by the possible combination of different materials. The work is based on the union of three key elements: design, functionality and technology”.

However, these are only two of the many projects that Simone has worked on. Visit his website to find out more.
