Italy’s premiere cities of art, tradition and culture Milan, Rome, Florence, Venice and Turin provide the backdrop for the IED Italian summer experience. Programs highlighting Italian know-how in traditional areas of fashion, design, architechture, sketching, event management and craftsmanship as well as creative technologies and social media enable students to discover and deepen areas of interest and skills for educational and professional fulfillment.
Spend your Summer in Italy!
The distinct IED educational approach engages students beyond the traditional classroom by including local professionals and institutions and creative final projects into each course. With this in mind, each course integrates relevant and rewarding visits to showrooms, studios and galleries and time to meet and speak with industry leaders.
To make the IED Summer Experience even more complete, the curriculum provides three-day weekends to grant students the possibility to take part in and experience local exhibitions and traditional celebrations as well as explore the cultural and artistic treasures that Italy has to offer.
Courses are divided in two categories:
- Introductory: these preparatory courses are designed for students with no prior knowledge or experience in the discipline. Introductory courses are an excellent way to start the education experience in the field of design as a transition to a IED Undergraduate program.
- Advanced: these courses are specifically intended for students who already have academic or professional experience in the area of study and are interested in developing their skills and professional portfolios. Advanced courses may be the bridge to a IED Undergraduate program, or, in case of a university graduate student, to a IED Master program.
