IED Moda Lab is a complete, exhaustive response to the increasingly diversified and specialised training requirements of the fashion system.
A complete Fashion school based on interaction between disciplines and an experiential teaching method which, in line with IED philosophy, combines knowledge with know how and theory with practice. Fundamental to this approach is the IED’s relationship with the entrepreneurs and professionals working in the Italian fashion business, the world’s largest concentration of fashion industrialists and creatives.
IED Moda Lab paves the way for its students to live and feel fashion, both in an embracing whole and in its individual and transversal aspects, as an interaction between different perspectives and a combination of diverse professional skills. IED Moda Lab is a didactic and research project that covers every training requirement in a field of fundamental importance to the Italian and world economies. At IED Firenze the fashion department focuses on the needs of the local industry and its fashion production, particularly with its partners in the districts of knitwear (Prato) and leather (Santa Croce) particularly.
From its more creative facets to those of management and commercial enterprise, from the stylist to the fabric or jewellery designer, from the journalist to the events organiser, the fashion industry needs well-trained professionals, with a solid cultural grounding and an acute ability to discern and predict future trends.
These courses are tailored for high-school or college graduates up to professionals who want to improve their skills.
