Our Class of 2026 interpret, challenge and imagine the world around us
Fashion is a discipline that reflects who we are as a society and what we aspire to express. Clothing has always been a statement of identity, but it is also a deeply political tool — one that responds to social, cultural and economic change and, now more than ever, engages with the environmental challenges of our time. Our graduates 2026 know it well.
At IED, students learn to transform the ideas, tensions and aspirations shaping contemporary society into garments, experiences, strategies and fashion systems. They challenge gender norms, rethink silhouettes, experiment with materials and explore new relationships between the body and clothing. To do so, they investigate the many forms of intelligence that coexist within our society — natural, mathematical, emotional, artisanal, cultural and collective — integrating these perspectives into creative processes that engage with the present while imagining possible futures.

The Class of 2026 Takes the Stage
Understanding fashion as a constantly evolving language — one that moves across bodies, territories and contexts — is key to understanding the world we live in today. Fashion reflects tensions, identities and conflicts through a wide range of formats: runway shows, editorials, brand strategies, marketing and communication campaigns, fashion films, installations and exhibitions. Its dynamic nature drives it to continually seek new ways of expression.
This creative curiosity is embedded in our fashion labs and reflected in the final collections developed by the Class of 2026. To bring students closer to professional practice, IED has created a programme of events across its campuses designed to foster direct engagement between emerging designers and the global fashion industry. These include runway shows in iconic venues, immersive installations and artistic performances conceived to expand the reach of their work.
The results go far beyond the creation of a garment. Each project brings together research, experimentation and a distinct point of view, reflecting the diversity of contemporary perspectives. Moving between physical and digital spaces, these designers explore fashion’s potential as a catalyst for reflection, innovation and change.
