In-person event
An event dedicated to Premise, a short film born from the encounter between writing, illustration, animation, and production.
On Thursday 19 March at 6.45 pm, in Room S10, Via Sciesa 4, IED Milano will host an event dedicated to Premise, a short film born from the intersection of writing, illustration, animation and production.
The event will be an opportunity to retrace every stage of the project, from the initial idea to the development of the short film, through to the collaboration with the production company Gray Ladder, which supported Premise throughout its production and distribution journey. During the evening, the short film will be screened, followed by an in-depth discussion on its making.
Speakers include:
• Ambra Garlaschelli, IED Alumna of the Undergraduate Program in Illustration and Animation and current faculty member
• Roberto Grasso, IED Alumnus of the Undergraduate Program in Illustration and Animation and of the Master in Animation Design
• Alessandro Regaldo, Screenwriter, Producer and Founder of Gray Ladder
• Lucio Besana, Screenwriter
• Lorenzo Lodovichi, Coordinator of the Master in Animation Design
Particular attention will be devoted to the work of the production company and the role it played in the development of Premise, supporting the project in obtaining the Short Film Fund Torino and the backing of MiBACT, as well as in building the creative team across animation, dubbing and music. Among the elements that further enriched the project was the collaboration with Alessandro Cortini, musician and keyboardist of Nine Inch Nails, alongside support for the film’s distribution on the festival circuit.
Starting from a reflection on the dynamics of encounter and tension among living beings, Premise develops an essential yet incisive visual universe, capable of translating an intense and contemporary vision into images. The result is a compact and immersive work in which mark-making, rhythm and sound interact powerfully, highlighting the evocative potential of animation.
