Fashion, Accessories and Jewelry
Fashion is language, identity, innovation.
Fashion constitutes a multifaceted system that integrates language, identity and technological innovation. It operates simultaneously as an aesthetic, cultural and social phenomenon, reflecting contemporary changes whilst contributing to processes of transformation.
IED's approach considers fashion as a field of design enquiry in which body, materials, accessories and communication constitute the tools for building narratives that engage with global markets. The sector is analysed in its multidimensionality: aesthetics, technology, sustainability and social responsibility are considered interdependent components. Teaching privileges plurality of languages and develops critical reading oriented towards the analysis of emerging trends.
The programmes articulate creativity, technical competencies and strategic vision to prepare professionals capable of interpreting current and future scenarios. Design is understood as a practice that generates not only products, but systems of meaning and relationships. The methodology values interdisciplinarity and collaboration, orienting itself around principles of sustainability, digitalisation and transdisciplinarity.
The education integrates cultural, technical and strategic dimensions through a pathway that spans from the design of clothing, accessories and jewellery to the development of brands and communication strategies, through to the management of production processes. Attention to supply chain processes, visual storytelling and multichannel communication translates into projects developed with companies and international organisations.
Fashion Design e Styling
The design of clothing and collections transforms research and vision into forms, materials and representations. The pathway includes historical-social analysis, concept development, prototyping, editorial and commercial styling, visual and digital communication.
Accessories e Jewelry Design
Footwear, leather goods, millinery and jewellery constitute elements of identity expression. The programme develops competencies in accessories design through artisanal and industrial methodologies, three-dimensional modelling software and digital technologies.
Fashion Communication e Management
The sector encompasses strategy, branding and narrative. The pathway prepares professionals in the construction of visual identities, design of editorial and digital campaigns, event organisation, product management and analysis of trends and consumer behaviours.
