A model of collective living that intertwines sharing, autonomy, and everyday practices of mutual care
The COHO cohousing project is configured as an operational refuge in an increasingly uncertain work context: a place of “support” that offers stability and new possibilities for relationships. The building becomes a hybrid space, where private life and professional activity intertwine. Spaces for study and work coexist with social and collaborative areas, fostering the sharing of skills, personal growth, and active participation.
“Care” is the founding principle: care for oneself, for others, and for the inhabited place. Shared spaces foster authentic relationships; the sharing of time and skills builds a solid mutual support. The cohousing opens to the neighborhood as an accessible point of reference.
The housing units, studio and one-bedroom apartments with controlled rent, are designed for economically active young people exposed to the vulnerabilities of the labor market, mainly singles or couples without children, in search of a context that supports professional and relational growth.
ABITARE CON CURA. Per un abitare collettivo e collaborativo a Torino is a project that explores new forms of shared living at the site of the former Superga, rethinking domestic space as a device of mutualism, relationships, and care. Under the guidance of Sex & the City (Azzurra Muzzonigro and Florencia Andreola), with the support of Renata Boeri, the students of the Master’s Program in Interior Design of IED Turin developed proposals capable of responding to contemporary social transformations.
