A digital platform designed to help Gen Z recognize and share their emotions, transforming the online experience into a space for listening and connection.

How can a digital environment be designed to welcome emotional vulnerability and uncertainty? With Tile, student Erica Magagna explores the role of interaction design in creating more empathetic and accessible digital spaces for Gen Z, a generation often searching for tools to better understand and express how they feel.

The project develops from a research phase focused on the behaviors and relational dynamics of younger generations, revealing needs related to emotional awareness, the sharing of personal experiences, and the possibility of connecting with others without fear of judgment. These insights informed the design of a mobile app conceived as a space for discovery and dialogue.

Within the platform, the experience combines moments of self-reflection, shared stories and testimonials, and interaction with an AI-based assistant designed to guide users toward relevant content and resources. The interface and visual language were developed to create a welcoming and recognizable environment, capable of addressing emotional topics with both sensitivity and lightness.

Alongside the design of the user experience and the app’s information architecture, the project includes the development of an interactive prototype and the definition of a communication strategy aimed at Gen Z, intended to foster awareness and open conversation around emotional loneliness.
