Every piece of jewellery is a symbol, a story that holds fragments of personal and collective narratives: around the body and our behaviours lies a complex system of symbols that the jewellery designer translates into tangible forms.
On the Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery Design, you will acquire the skills to manage the entire process of creating a jewellery collection independently, from research to development and prototyping, through to its communication.
The design of a piece of jewellery begins with the study of the body, ergonomics and identity as an extension of the body, combined with experimentation in production techniques and knowledge of materials bridging fashion and design.
Thanks to a programme that combines traditional goldsmithing and innovation, you will have the opportunity to experiment with both traditional techniques and digital tools such as 3D modelling and rendering, using state-of-the-art workshops and technologies that will enable you to create prototypes of your projects, transforming your ideas into tangible products and testing their feasibility.
Over the three years, you will be guided in building your design identity: you will analyse the cultural value of jewellery, explore its production dynamics, and learn to develop narratives and communication strategies essential for presenting your projects effectively. Courses in jewellery history and design methodologies will provide you with the tools to interpret industry needs and anticipate trends.
You will be supported throughout by a faculty of professionals and will have the opportunity to collaborate with brands and companies and take part in competitions, gaining direct contact with the professional world and exploring areas from high jewellery to fashion jewellery and the world of accessories.
