In recent years, sound design has taken on an increasingly central role in the creative industries, thanks to its ability to design and integrate sounds that enrich visual, interactive, or environmental experiences.
The three-year Bachelor’s Degree in Sound Design will guide you through the exploration of the multiple formats and languages of sound, using the most advanced audio production tools and innovative techniques.
Through a course of study that combines cultural insights with practical and laboratory-based activities, you will experiment with sound design across different contexts such as audiovisual media, music, and performing arts, collaborating on interdisciplinary projects with students from other courses to develop a comprehensive creative approach.
Over the three years, you will learn recording and mixing techniques for the creation of sound effects and soundtracks, applying them to sound branding projects, audiovisual content, music production, multimedia installations, gaming, and live performances. You will have access to cutting-edge laboratories and technology—both as part of your academic activities and for your personal projects—allowing you to translate your vision into sound, from the initial concept to project development, through to production and finalisation.
Your lecturers will be leading professionals working across different areas of sound. Throughout the course, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with key partners from the production and cultural industries, exploring the many applications of sound design, including film and TV, podcasts, radio and music production, communication and advertising, multimedia performance, and interactive systems such as apps, video games, and VR experiences.
