Editorial graphic design as a lens on the present
Saturday, May 16 at 4:00 PM, in Sala Berlino at the Lingotto Congress Centre, as part of the Turin International Book Fair, IED presents “Graficologia. Designing the Present”, a talk with Andrea Viberti, Founder and Creative Director of Hellobarrio, a visual agency specializing in branding, visual design, and digital development, and Coordinator of the Graphic Design Undergraduate Program at IED Turin.
The event is part of Book-Makers, a project that brings together schools and publishing professionals through a series of talks dedicated to the industry.
The talk explores how editorial graphic design moves beyond layout to become a design practice that not only gives form, but also involves choosing a perspective, a position, and a way of engaging with the present.
Through a series of examples — from books and magazines to editorial artifacts — the creative process emerges, showing how these works function as devices capable of shaping imaginaries, guiding interpretation, and offering ways to read the contemporary.
