From 8 to 10 July 2026, IED Milano presents Leaving the Nest, the 2026 Graduation Show of the Jewelry Design course, hosted at Serafini Gallery in Milan.
The project stems from the poetic image of a curious magpie flying across mountains, oceans, forests and cities, collecting small treasures along its journey: a glimmering thread, a forgotten bead, a fragment of shell, a piece of metal catching the sunlight. Each object holds a story, a memory, a place of origin. Together, these elements form a nest that is no longer simply a collection of precious objects, but a shared space of encounters, cultures, journeys and discoveries.
In the same way, the exhibition reflects this process through a collection of unique jewelry pieces, each carrying an individual narrative while also contributing to a broader collective story. Leaving the Nest thus becomes a shared home made of materials, memories and imaginaries, as well as the symbol of a transition: the moment when a new generation of jewelry designers prepares to leave the nest and step into the professional world.
