From February 5 to March 7, IED Madrid will take part in Madrid Design Festival with a comprehensive program that connects design, culture, and innovation. During these weeks, our spaces will transform into an open creative ecosystem for the public, featuring exhibitions, professional talks, and experimental projects that reflect the current pulse of contemporary design.
The program includes Radio MDF, an online communication platform covering the festival; the installation IED Madrid x Estrella Galicia: Creación Circular at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza, open from February 12 to 22; and the presentation of the launch campaign Alianza por la Lana, developed by a team of IED students, which will take place on February 18, also at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza.
The program is further enriched by several exhibitions at the IED Design District, including Diseño Presente. Premios ADG Laus 2025, open from February 6, showcasing the award-winning projects from the 55th edition of the ADG Laus Graphic Design and Visual Communication Awards; Luminarias Experimentales: Materia Viva y Luz, presenting luminaires created with new materials; a site-specific intervention in collaboration with the Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño; and TIMES NEW, an exhibition that for the first time brings together works from IED Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao focused on new futures of design. The IED Design District will also host a talk by the renowned studio Dumbar on February 19.
For the first time this year, IED Madrid will open its PRO Talks program at its Gran Vía campus on February 17 with designer Sebastián Bergne. At this same venue, located in the Altamira Palace, visitors will also be able to see the exhibition Valor ancestral, curated by Latam Creative Talent, starting on February 17.
The program culminates with the Open Studios, taking place from March 6 to 7, open-door days where the public can discover creative processes, workshops, and projects developed by students and faculty teams. During these days, visitors will also be able to explore the exhibitions mentioned above.
A diverse, open, and city-connected program that positions IED Madrid as the festival’s largest creative hub.
We look forward to welcoming you.
