Students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design present PD-SCI >API (ADS)-2026-ES-0001, a project exploring how identification systems shape individual identity.
The project PD-SCI >API (ADS)-2026-ES-0001 explores how identity is constructed, validated and transformed in contemporary society through identification systems. Developed by fourth-year students on the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, the project is part of Iberoamérica y Carabanchel. Diálogos desde el diseño, an exhibition held as part of the tenth edition of the Ibero-American Design Biennial (BID26). The exhibition brings together 17 dialogues between creative studios based in Carabanchel and works from previous editions of the Biennial, creating a space for exchange between contemporary design practice and the Ibero-American creative scene.
Through documents, objects, records and digital traces, the project creates an audiovisual, interactive and sound-based archive that explores the processes of hyper-codification and decodification of the individual.
The proposal takes shape through installations, interfaces and immersive experiences that invite visitors to navigate a system in which accumulating codes grants access, while losing them can mean disappearing.
It raises questions about identity, exclusion and depersonalisation in a context where administrative, digital and social data and identifiers play an increasingly significant role in how people are recognised and interact with their surroundings.
The project has been developed by students Sofía Maya (conceptual direction), Alejandro Domínguez (visual direction), Tomás Morena (system design), Henrique Amaro, Arturo Alda, Alejandro Sanz and Clara Moll.
