Decoding inspirational minds with Mit Borrás.
On 8 April at 6.30 pm, visual artist Mit Borrás (Madrid, 1982) will meet the public at the first edition of IED Muses at IED Madrid.
IED Madrid Design District will host this event in which Borrás will share the vision of his work, where he explores the relationship between humans, nature, and technology, focusing on their role in the evolutionary process. Through a conceptual and multidisciplinary approach, Borrás examines ideas of post-human consciousness and the interplay between biodiversity and technological progress. His practice centers on adaptation as a philosophical method for transcending traditional categories of existence. His video-based works, performances, and multi-dimensional installations act as essayistic portraits that embody a heightened awareness of our contemporary condition.
Borrás’s work, who is based between Madrid and Berlin, has been shown internationally, including exhibitions at Centre Pompidou, Paris (2022); Art Dubai, UAE (2022); Hara Museum, Tokyo (2010); Exgirlfriend Gallery, Berlin (2016–21); Tick Tack Gallery, Antwerp (2021); The Wrong Biennale, Paris (2021); Art Cologne (2021); Pylon Hub, Dresden (2021); Harddiskmuseum, Paris (2020); Arebyte Gallery, London (2019); and others in São Paulo, Milan, Vienna, Athens, Tel Aviv, Santiago, Lima, and Barcelona.
He has co-directed Fünf Galerie in Berlin (2010–14), produced digital art festivals, curated independent projects, and worked with the Instituto Cervantes in Germany (2014). Borrás teaches Critical Studies, Object Design, and Digital Culture at TAI University, UCII University (Escuela Sur), and IED Madrid. He is the founder of CAVVE, a studio for Expanded Media and Digital Art, with Rachel Lamot as Creative Director. He is represented in Spain by House of Chappaz and is a member of the collectives Frontviews and Haunt in Berlin.
IED MUSES Talks is a series of enlightening sessions designed to provide artistic inspiration and knowledge for creatives. This initiative aims to gather ideas and facilitate the creative process by inviting distinguished individuals from various disciplines.
