Through art and design, Pascal Hachem and Philéo Landowski reveal what lies beneath the surface of everyday life.

In collaboration with Pitti Immagine, IED presents Nothing Special, a talk featuring artist Pascal Hachem and designer Philéo Landowski.

Using objects and tools from everyday life, they shape their practice. For them, the everyday is a place of discovery, infused with a sense of humour that conceals layered messages within their work. Through observation and a detached sensibility, they explore the subtle contradictions of contemporary social contexts, revealing what lies beneath the surface of communities and human relationships.

Pascal Hachem

Pascal Hachem (b. 1979) develops a practice deeply connected to the city. Although now based in Paris, his work continues to reflect the lessons learned from Beirut, where uncertainty and transience became defining conditions. His works have recently been exhibited at institutions including Desert X AlUla 2024, The Mosaic Rooms, Gwangju Museum of Art, Fondazione Merz, Collection Lambert and Kunsthaus Dresden.

Philéo Landowski

Philéo Landowski (b. 2002) is a Paris-based designer whose practice moves between product design, installation and spatial intervention. Founder of PHILEO, he approaches footwear as a sculptural medium, exploring balance, ergonomics and movement. Alongside his design work, he develops curatorial and installation projects, including Ancient/New Site presented at Pitti Uomo.
