A transdisciplinary exhibition bringing together fashion, visual arts and editorial practices during Pitti Uomo 110

On the occasion of Pitti Uomo 110, IED presents Pathos Formulas, an exhibition and installation project curated by Francesca Gavin, Editor-in-Chief of EPOCH Review and Director of Visual Arts at Murmur, hosted at the former Teatro dell'Oriuolo in Florence from 17 to 19 June 2026.

The exhibition brings together the work of 17 students from across IED's international network and emerges from the dialogue between Fashion Design, Fashion Styling, Photography, Graphic Design, Video, Sound and Interior Design. Through a transdisciplinary approach, the project explores the circulation of images, cultural memory and the role of contemporary creativity in shaping new imaginaries.

Inspired by Aby Warburg's concept of Pathosformel, the exhibition reflects on how symbols, gestures and visual forms travel across time, transforming and reappearing in different contexts. Fashion becomes the starting point for a broader investigation into the relationship between past and present, archive and experimentation, design practice and critical reflection.

Pathos Formulas presents creativity as a space for collaboration and exchange, highlighting the dialogue between disciplines and the interdisciplinary educational approach that defines IED.

Opening (by invitation only): 16 June 2026
Open to the public: 17–19 June 2026
